Pellegrini Family Vineyards
Pellegrini Family Vineyards, set in idyllic, historic, family-owned vineyards on Olivet Lane, is a true-working facility- in fact, the “TR” is called The Barrel Room- though tasting goes on there and retail sales. All parts of the winery are working. Located in the Russian River Valley AVA, the winery produces pinot, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc to name a few- but also, pulling grapes from its own Cloverdale Ranch property, 55 acres at the very northern tip of the Alexander Valley AVA, it produces Bordeaux varietals- making the offerings at Pellegrini rich, interesting and unexpected in the RRV.
Follow/”like” Pellegrini on Facebook and you will be privy to Fans, Friends & Family Specials- deep discounts that are often announced on Friday that carry through Sunday in The Barrel Room- what’s not to “like”? Speaking of discounts, check out the Wine Club- three levels to suit any level of interest, tailored to you.
Back in 1973, Vincent and Ida Pellegrini purchased the 70-acre Olivet Lane property, then planted with plum and apple orchards; they planted the land to chardonnay and pinot (this is one of the oldest pinot estates in the RRV) and the rest is history. On my recent visit the last of the Olivet Lane chardonnay was coming into the facility. I tasted the fruit- it was just delicious and the incipient wine shone through.
