Inn at Occidental

The Inn at Occidental, nestled into a hillside overlooking the tiny Redwood-protected hamlet of Occidental, is in a very unique, advantageous geographical location: less than 15 miles to the Pacific Ocean, in the Redwoods, near the unique Sonoma Canopy Tours (think Redwood Tree  Zip Lines) and close to many Wine Road wineries.  Innkeepers Tina and Jerry consider that all guests are staying in their home- they get to know you and enjoy the many returning guests and couples. Along with a beautifully appointed, comfy, romantic room (And-they clean with biodegradable products), a full breakfast (all special diets will be accommodated), evening wine and cheese and complete concierge services are included with your stay. My most recent visit was on a Friday afternoon, so I was able to visit the Occidental Farmers Market which occurs Fridays, June – October, 4pm – dusk.  I borrowed a basket from the Inn and walked down the hill to the market.  Though Occidental is a small town, it also has the fabulous restaurant Bistro des Copains which I saw when I turned the corner.
