Heading out Dry Creek Road, be sure to stop at Timber Crest Farms, home of many Wine Road member wineries and al Fresco Kitchen.
Timber Crest Farms- very well known around here from its past life as a a fruit and vegetable spot extraordinaire, is now home to ten Wine Road member wineries (watch for them all in upcoming Wine Time with TR blogs), who offer up a self-guided walk out into the vineyards to the east, a fantastic Picnic Area that can be reserved for your event (free!) as well as a Flower Cutting Garden that allows you to reasonably cut as many flowers as you like, free of charge, encouraging one with the idea that the more the flowers are loved and cut, the more they will bloom.
Which brings me to Chef Todd Muir’s al Fresco Kitchen….OMG! I never knew this was available- this is just so very cool! Great menu- Paninis, Burgers, Salads and daily specials- great choice of sides- delicious fries, potato salad or green salad- you can order non-alcoholic beverages, including espresso (and dessert) or purchase wine from one of the awesome wineries right there and enjoy it with your lunch. My friend, Glenn, treated- he had the Turkey Panini Sandwich and I had the Curried Chicken Sandwich- just delicious, so very expertly prepared (I used to work with Todd, graduate of the California Culinary Academy, back in 1983 at Madrona Manor) enjoyed in such a lovely setting. I just cannot get over what a great time I had! Perfect Wine Country adventure- perfect day….

al Fresco Kitchen: Amazing food! Purchase some wine from a neighboring winery, grab a friend, and you have it made.
Here’s looking at you, kids.
