Everett Ridge Vineyards & Winery
Everett Ridge Vineyards & Winery, historic, the second oldest winery in DCV, with barn dating back to 1900, quietly making wines much too good to ignore, is nestled on a hillside looking east towards Healdsburg, with spectacular vistas enjoyed from both the TR and the outdoor deck area, featuring inspired Family Style Tastings. There is also a wood-fired pizza oven, as well as gardens, close-in-proximity-grown-in-blocks-vines, a special warm welcome for bicyclists, motorists and dogs. Picnic foods are available in the cold case, right alongside their chilled, delicious wines. The warmth from staff is evident in this relaxed TR; the views in the cooler months, speaking of warmth, feature the steam plumes from the Geysers across the valley. Many tiers of Wine Club are offered with lots of wines to choose from; this Sterling family-owned and loved winery embraces the past, from Everett Wise (1850′s- thus the name) and looks to the future with care of the land and delicious varietals- their Cole Ranch Riesling – dry at just .25 RS- hales from the smallest AVA, which is owned by the Sterling family, near their Esterlina (Spanish for “sterling”) Vineyards . (Not one of Wine Road’s areas, but click over on the link above for the full story.) Everett Ridge learns from their guests and strives to make their wine tasting experience pertinent and educational to all; they learn from and appreciate their visitors. Diablita wines and descriptors are just my style- what EVERY woman wants to be…I fell….even bought a poster.

Gorgeous eucalyptus tree- very Australian Thorn-Birdish- erroneously planted in California to provide timber, erosion control and fire/wind protection. They explode in a fire- but are pretty- no lumber. Someone really should have read the fine-print on those planting instructions….

Family-style tastings outside on the gorgeous deck….your dog can sit with you- or, if you are overheated from bicycling, sit out here….

Just outside the TR- friendly to man and beast- the perfect setting to taste the Everett Ridge wines….
Here’s looking at you, kids.
